Code Of Conduct
Discipline, punctuality and mutual respect
Every pupil and guardian is expected to be familiar with the rules below. Ignorance of the rules is not accepted as an excuse, and guardians are asked to help ensure they are carefully observed.
- PunctualityPupils shall be punctual and take their seats immediately after the warning bell. After assembly, they proceed to class in perfect order and use English for ordinary conversation on campus.
- Conduct on campusDuring intervals pupils shall not leave the campus without permission, and should avoid shouting, quarrels or discourteous language.
- AttendanceComing late without sound reason invites punishment. Any absence requires an explanatory note from the guardian on return; absence beyond three days requires advance written notice to the Principal, supported by a medical certificate if due to illness.
- Health & safetyPupils suffering from an infectious or contagious disease should not be sent to school, and a medical certificate is required before rejoining after such illness. The school is not responsible for valuable articles brought by pupils.
- Early departureIf a guardian wants a child to leave before the scheduled time, a written note must be sent, or the pupil must apply in writing to the class teacher and obtain the Principal's sanction.
- Property & behaviourWriting or scribbling on walls or desks, spilling ink, or damaging school property in any way is strictly forbidden; any damage is compensated at the Principal's discretion. Irregular attendance, unexplained absence beyond seven days, or objectionable influence may justify dismissal, at the Principal's discretion.
- ExaminationsTwo semester examinations are conducted each year. Examinations cannot be deferred or anticipated for individual convenience, and no re-examination is conducted in any subject; absence from a whole examination means total loss of marks. Forty percent of marks is required to pass each subject, and any malpractice is liable to punishment. Promotion depends on the final report as well as results through the year, and the Principal's decision on promotion is final.
- Withdrawal & feesAdmission fees once paid are not refundable. Pupils cannot be withdrawn without a month's notice (or a month's fee in lieu). A Leaving Certificate is issued only once all dues are cleared and school property returned. Fees should be paid on time; late fees are fined.
- UniformFull uniform is compulsory on all days, including examination days, unless otherwise instructed — chocolate-brown pants/shorts and biscuit-cream shirt with a chocolate-brown tie for boys and girls, bagpiper-check skirts for girls, black shoes and cream socks with brown stripes. Boys should keep a proper haircut; girls should keep hair neatly braided. Uniforms must be kept clean, tidy and mended.
- Parents & guardiansParents are asked to co-operate with the school in enforcing regularity and discipline, to supervise homework daily, and to meet teachers on report day to discuss progress.
- Visiting hoursNo visitors are permitted to see students or teachers during class hours. Parents may meet teachers only on Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. (Std 1–4 on the 3rd Saturday, Std 5–10 on the 4th Saturday; the 2nd Saturday is a holiday).
- School timingPrimary section: 7:50 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. K.G. section: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Students should arrive a few minutes before time. No school business is transacted on holidays or at the residence of any staff member.
